Washingpool Farm is an eighty acre farm which runs from the farm shop to the river Brit near Pymore. The farm supplies the shop and restaurant with fresh and tasty fruit and vegetables as well as our own lamb, beef and eggs.

 

The sandy soil on the top of the ridge makes it ideal for growing vegetables and potatoes. The meadow along the stream provides grazing for our pedigree herd of ‘Red Ruby’ North Devon beef cattle and the pigs help clear our waste vegetables. Washingpool Farm is also home to a variety of chickens that provide us with eggs and a small flock of sheep that produce quality, tasty lamb for the shelves.

 

Three beautiful ponds were originally dug as irrigation reservoirs to water our crops in dry spells. They are stocked with fish and are a haven for wildlife.
